The BCN Sports Film 2027 will take place in Barcelona on dates yet to be determined during February of 2027. In this seventeenth edition, the festival will have a competitive nature. The seventeenth edition of the festival will have a hybrid format so, there will be face-to-face screenings and online screenings. The rights that the authors assign, therefore, are both for the face-to-face sessions that are held in the official venues of the contest, as well as for the sessions that will be held online through an online platform. These Rules & Regulations have been approved by the BCN Sports Film 2027 Organising Committee. Your taking part in BCN Sports Film 2027 implies the total acceptance of these regulations. AIMS One of the principal objectives of BCN Sports Film 2027 is to bring the general public into contact with sports-orientated audiovisual content and the values that they represent. Whilst offering the media, film directors, producers and specialised distributors a meeting place in which they can exchange views and information. CONTENT The BCN Sports Film 2027 is open to all those productions in which the principal subject matter is that of sport in all its forms and disciplines. Genres included: animated films, documentaries and fiction, from shorts to feature length films. GENERAL RULES BCN Sports Film 2027 is open to both professional and independent productions. BCN Sports Film 2027 will admit all films produced from 1st January 2024. When registering the film, it will be necessary to specify whether it is a premiere at the Catalan, Spanish or international level. And, similarly, whether it is a debut film considered as such, the first or second work of the director of the work. The maximum length of the works presented at the BCN Sports Film 2027 will be 90 minutes credits not included. Each producer may present as many films as he wishes as long as they comply with all other regulations. Therefore, the participant guarantees that he has all the exploitation rights over the work to be able to participate in the competition and the participant exempts the organizers from any claim that may arise from third parties in relation to intellectual property rights. The use of artificial intelligence is permitted in the production of works but this use must be explicitly indicated. BCN Sports Film 2027 Organising Committee may programme non-competing films of general interest whatever their date of production or their length. JURY The BCN Sports Film Festival has two juries with different functions: the selection jury and the official jury. Both juries (selection jury and official jury) of the BCN Sports Film 2027 will be made up of people linked to the world of sports, cinema, audiovisual and culture. The selection jury is responsible for reviewing all the productions received and determining which ones will participate in the festival. The selected films will receive a badge that certifies that they are part of the official section of the festival. The official jury, whose composition is completely independent of the selection jury, will be responsible for deliberating between the finalist productions and determining which productions will obtain the different festival awards. PRIZES Selected Films will be competing for: \u2022 The City of Barcelona Amphora for the best film, gifted with 1000 \u20ac \u2022 Jury Special Award, gifted with 750 \u20ac \u2022 Award for the best Catalan production, gifted with 500 \u20ac \u2022 Award for the best adventure sports film \u2013 \u00c1lvaro Bult\u00f3, gofted with 500 \u20ac \u2022 Award for the best fiction film, gifted with 500 \u20ac \u2022 Award for the best documentary, gifted with 500 \u20ac \u2022 Award for the best animated film, gifted with 500 \u20ac \u2022 Award \u201cSport and society\u201d, gifted with 500 \u20ac On the other hand, the selection jury of the BCN Sports Film 2027 may award a total of up to two special mentions. These mentions will not be financially endowed. The sponsors of the festival may provide other cash prizes or other benefits. Withholding will be applied to this amount according to current legislation. INSCRIPTIONS Inscriptions will be accepted from the publication of this rules till 30th September 2026, both included. Each participant shall have submitted the registration form and video through: https:\/\/festhome.com\/ or https:\/\/filmfreeway.com or using the festival website. Registration implies acceptance of these rules and the conditions of use of the web pages. SELECTED WORKS The Organizing Committee will notify participants by email and before 29th October 2026 should film have been selected for the BCN Sports Film 2027 official competition. Other promotional material may be requested by the organization. The organization will provide the subtitles in Catalan or Spanish for exclusive use during the event. All selected works will be included in the schedule of the seventeenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival and will be screened either in person or virtually during one or more sessions of the festival: \u2022 Educational sessions for schools. \u2022 General and\/or special screenings of the seventeenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival. \u2022 Sessions for penitentiary centres. ON-SITE SCREENINGS General and\/or special schedule of school sessions of the seventeenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival. \u2022 All screenings will be part of one or more sessions of the BCN Sports Film Festival with open access for school audiences or the general audience. Some in-person sessions may require a symbolic price for public access in the form of an entrance ticket as a way of ensuring capacity and in no case with a profit-making objective. Sessions for prisons \u2022 Selected films for prison sessions will be screened in private sessions, not open to the general public. These sessions will only be available during the running dates of the seventeenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival. VIRTUAL SCREENINGS Educational sessions for schools \u2022 Selected works for virtual school sessions will be screened in password-protected virtual sessions accessible to schools that request access via the website. These sessions will take place during the first quarter of 2027, with a maximum duration of three months. They will be exclusively offered to educational and\/or training centers and will be supported by educational materials developed by Filmclub to assist educators. General and\/or special schedule of the fifteenth edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival \u2022 All productions will be available on the virtual platform Festhome only during the days of the festival, with free access. After the festival concludes, the productions will no longer be available. SCREENINGS Those films selected to participate will be screened as scheduled in the 2027 Festival Programme. The films selected for the competition will be integrated into the documentary and videographic collection of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and may be shown publicly in the screening spaces of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, headquarters of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation exclusively for pedagogical or didactic purposes, and always as a means of promoting the festival, thus ceding to the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, only the exploitation rights in the indicated mode of reproduction and public communication. Awarded films and special mentions \u2022 Only films awarded in the 2027 edition and approved for the prize may be screened as promotion for the 2027 edition, with a single airing on a channel of public tv and in no case on a platform. Any other potential screening on different channels will require negotiation of rights between the involved entities. The BCN Sports Film Festival organization may assist in this negotiation process. \u2022 Winning productions will enter the final phase of the WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE international circuit. Winners authorise the BCN Sports Film Festival 2027 Organising Committee to share their contact details to the WORLD FICTS CHALLENGE festival organizing committees. The organizers will not distribute any copies of the film to third parties without prior authorization from the producers or legal representatives. Participants also authorise the Organising Committee to partially reproduce their films in the media with the aim of promoting the 2027 BCN SPORTS FILM festival. Consequences of non-acceptance of these bases In the event that participants do not accept the full content of these rules, they will not be allowed to take part in the competition."}
