The closing ceremony of the 14th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival, held at the Museu Ol\u00edmpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch has been a meeting point between the world of cinema, sport, politics and society. Karim’s footsteps has been proclaimed winner of this new edition.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

David Escud\u00e9<\/b>, president of the Fundaci\u00f3 Barcelona Ol\u00edmpica, was in charge of awarding the <\/span>Amphora Ciutat de Barcelona<\/b> to the best film<\/b><\/span> of the 14th edition of the BCN Sports Film to <\/span>“KARIM’S FOOTSTEPS”,<\/b> a production directed and produced by <\/span>Javier \u00c1lvaro Palomares<\/b>, which tells the story of Abdul Karim, the most famous porter of the Karakorum. Karim was born in Hush\u00e9, a small village in northern Pakistan, where the only way to get some money to survive the harsh winters is to work on expeditions to the great mountains of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The event was attended by Juli Pernas<\/strong>, patron of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and member of the executive committee of the FICTS, F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale Cin\u00e9ma T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Sportifs, among other personalities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The <\/span>official jury<\/b> – formed by <\/span>Felipe de la Cruz<\/b>, director, scriptwriter and producer; <\/span>Josep Roca<\/b>, graduate in Hispanic philology and coordinator of major sporting events at the Barcelona City Council; <\/span>Marie Ponsardin<\/b>, organizer of the Quais du d\u00e9part festival; <\/span>Marta Figueras<\/b>, audiovisual producer; and <\/span>Natalia Via-Dufresne<\/b>, professional sailor – wanted to award two special mentions and a special prize to three productions due to the high quality of all of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

The<\/span> jury’s special prize <\/b><\/span>went to \u201c<\/span>THE GOOSE\u201d<\/b>, a Czech work<\/span> directed by Jan Mika <\/b>and produced by Michal Podhradsky. They also wanted to give two special mentions to \u201c<\/span>SANTORINI, EL PARAD\u00cdS DEL PARKOUR\u201d<\/b> directed by <\/span>Biel Maci\u00e0<\/b> and produced by Rub\u00e9n Seca. And a second mention for <\/span>\u201cEL JUEGO DE SU VIDA\u201d,<\/b> directed by <\/span>Alejando Mi\u00f1arro<\/b> and produced by Berenice Aneiros.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
