Hosted by journalist <\/span><b>Mireia Vicente<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the event brought together authorities, audiovisual and sports industry professionals, and sports film enthusiasts, marking the beginning of a week full of inspiring stories.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4ea673a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4ea673a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>A celebration and tribute event<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c87e2fd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c87e2fd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished institutional and cultural figures. <\/span><b>David Escud\u00e9<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Barcelona\u2019s Sports Councillor and President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, officially opened the festival with a speech highlighting the role of sports as a driver of social and cultural change. During his speech, he paid tribute to <\/span><b>Josep Roca<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a key figure in the history of sports and event management in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Escud\u00e9 has also expressed gratitude for the presence of <\/span><b>Juli Pernas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, trustee of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and member of the executive committee of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale Cin\u00e9ma T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Sportifs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">; <\/span><b>C\u00e9sar Thovar<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, territorial representative for Sports in Barcelona on behalf of the Government of Catalonia; <\/span><b>Carme Puig<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, head of audiovisual festivals at the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises; <\/span><b>Franco Ascani<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, president of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale Cin\u00e9ma T\u00e9l\u00e9vision Sportifs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (FICTS), an organization supporting the Tribute to Cinema and Sports festival; and <\/span><b>Enric Tru\u00f1\u00f3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, trustee of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b8d6d46 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b8d6d46\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Tribute to Cinema and Sports<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f3777c7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f3777c7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The festival\u2019s artistic director, <\/span><b>Agust\u00ed Argelich<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, emphasized the diversity and quality of the selected productions for this edition. With <\/span><b>81 productions from 34 countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the festival reaffirms its commitment to sports cinema and its power to convey values such as perseverance, teamwork, and resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the major new features of this edition is the addition of the <\/span><b>Teatre Merc\u00e8 Rodoreda in Sant Joan Desp\u00ed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a new venue, joining the already established <\/span><b>Cinemes Girona, INEFC Barcelona, Centre C\u00edvic Cotxeres de Sants, Centre C\u00edvic Bon Pastor, Institut Fran\u00e7ais de Barcelona, Ateneu de Sant Just, and EUSES &#8211; Campus de Salt in Girona<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff2a554 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff2a554\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>SpotSport 2025: first award of the night<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0dab7a5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0dab7a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the ceremony, the winner of the <\/span><b>SpotSport 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> contest, which awards the festival\u2019s official promotional spot, was announced. This year, the award went to <\/span><b>Ignasi L\u00f3pez F\u00e0bregas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for his piece <\/span><b>\u201cCinema i Acci\u00f3\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which captivated the jury with its creativity and ability to convey the magic of sports cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The award was presented by <\/span><b>\u00c0lex Besc\u00f3s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, head of marketing at the newspaper SPORT, who handed over the prize to the winning creator.
