Foto-Memòria: Bon Pastor revisits its sporting memory within the BCN Sports Film Festival

Yesterday, Wednesday 25 February, Bon Pastor joined the 16th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival with a special participatory event: Foto-Memòria (Sports Cinema Special), held at Biblioteca Bon Pastor – Josefina Castellví (c/ Estadella, 64). Through an interactive presentation of images connected to sport and Olympism, attendees helped build a shared story—memories, context and reflections showing how the past continues to shape the present. The session was led by Juli Pernas, a Bon Pastor resident and member of the Centre d’Estudis i Arxiu Vilabesòs (CEAV). Pernas is also a trustee of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica (FBO) and a member of FICTS (Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs), the international sports film network that the BCN Sports Film Festival belongs to.

Two screenings at Centre Cívic Bon Pastor: tickets still available

The festival continues in the neighbourhood today and tomorrow with two sessions at Centre Cívic Bon Pastor (screenings in OV):

Thu 26 (7:15 pm) – “Al límit”: stories of risk, passion and pushing boundaries—surf, mountain, boxing and vertical dance—exploring the edge between nature, limits and freedom.
Fri 27 (7:15 pm) – “L’esperit del joc”: a session on passion, identity and memory through sport—tradition, creativity, technology and play as a transformative force.

BCN Sports Film Festival held today, Wednesday 25 February, the parallel activity “Women Direct” at Cinemes Girona, a session that champions the talent of women filmmakers and their ability to broaden —and transform— the way we watch sport on screen. When they look, sport changes Through the screenings, the session brought together stories that move beyond clichés and focus on nuances often left out: process, context, vulnerability, relationships, and the questions that arise when sport becomes identity, work, pressure or refuge. Directing, producing and changing the game: a dialogue on how stories are told (and who tells them) After the screenings, the session continued with the talk “Directing, producing and changing the game: the female gaze in sports audiovisual storytelling”, a space to discuss craft, creation and role models —from how point of view is chosen to the challenges of filming in high-performance environments. The conversation explored key issues such as access to certain sporting spaces, relationships with protagonists and technical crews, ethical decisions when telling real stories, and the importance of building narratives that don’t only celebrate epic moments, but also show what happens “behind the scenes”: preparation, sacrifice and the everyday life of sport.
