BCN Sports Film 2027 unveils its official selection: 87 films from 33 countries

The festival’s 17th edition brings more than 26 hours of sports cinema to Barcelona from 18 to 28 February, with stories that look beyond competition.

The official selection for BCN Sports Film Festival 2027 is here. Featuring 87 productions from 33 countries, this year’s line-up invites audiences to explore sport through cinema: its people, its contradictions and the world around it.

From 18 to 28 February 2027, Barcelona will bring filmmakers and audiences together for a selection totalling more than 26 hours of cinema. It is an opportunity to encounter other cultures, discover new voices and be surprised by stories that resonate well beyond the sporting world.

Sport on screen, stories beyond the score

What happens before a competition? What remains afterwards? And which stories unfold away from the spotlight? Sports cinema makes room for everything a result cannot convey: personal relationships, conflicts, a sense of belonging and the decisions that shape a life.

BCN Sports Film brings that perspective to an experience combining the excitement of sport with cinema’s ability to ask questions. The selection offers different ways of telling sporting stories, with room for discovery, reflection and entertainment.

An international selection

With productions from 33 countries, the festival’s 17th edition brings together a wide range of perspectives and cultural contexts. This international outlook is a defining feature of BCN Sports Film, organised by the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and part of the FICTS international sports film festival circuit.

The announcement of the official selection marks the next step towards the festival. Screening sessions, schedules and the activities completing the BCN Sports Film 2027 programme will be announced soon.

Save the dates: 18–28 February.
