Thanks to everyone!

The 12th edition of the BCN Sports Film has come to an end and, from the organization of the festival, we want to thank all the participants, collaborators, sponsors, media, public, guests and, in short, all those who, with your effort, have made possible this twelfth edition.

In this edition we have broken records! We have received more than 3000 productions from 64 different countries, numbers that place the BCN Sports Film as a festival of international reference.

If there is something that makes this festival unique, it is not only the sport itself, but all the values that each of the participating productions exudes. The most human stories, the struggle against stereotypes, the spirit of self-improvement and cooperation, the effort and sacrifice… have made this one of the most complete grids of all.

Eighty-four selected films have made up the 20 sessions of this edition that have been screened in 7 different venues: Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch, Museu i Centre d’Estudis Dr. Melcior Colet, Cinemes Girona, Centre Cívic Bon Pastor, Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants, Centre Cívic El Sortidor, Institut Français de Barcelona. Thanks to all of them for opening their doors and letting the magic of sport flow!

In addition, the BCN Sports Film has an educational aspect. Around 1000 schoolchildren from Catalonia have participated in the morning sessions at the Olympic Museum of Barcelona, where they have been able to enjoy and learn about the different realities of the world through sport.

High quality productions have made up the festival, and our most sincere congratulations to all the awarded films in this 12th edition! In particular, we would like to mention “La Cumbre es el Camino”, by Álvaro Sanz, winner of the award for best film. The story of the first inclusive trek to the Himalayas; an example that there is no unreachable goal or inaccessible summit when you have enough willpower.

Finally, we would like to highlight the collaboration and the great reception of the audiovisual world, as well as the many directors and producers who have been part of and have witnessed the various days of the Festival. Undoubtedly, the union and teamwork have made this new illusion possible.
