Juli Pernas re-elected as executive member of the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS)
Juli Pernas, member of the board of trustees of the Fundació Barcelona Olímpica and the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch of Barcelona, has been re-elected as an executive member of the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) until 2027.
The FICTS, chaired by Franco Ascani, was founded in 1983 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for promoting the values of sport through film and television. This federation organizes theSports Movies & TV – Milano International FICTS Festival,the world final of the “World FICTS Challenge”, the World Championship of Cinema, Television and Sports Culture organized in different festivals on the five continents and of which the BCN Sports Film Festival is a part.
Pernas has always been closely linked to sport; Among other positions, he has presided over the Royal Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation, been vice president and secretary of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia (UFEC), member of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and the Museum. Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch of Barcelona from 2010 to 2020, a period during which he signed the agreement with the FICTS establishing Barcelona as the headquarters of the World FICTS Challenge, thus giving rise to the BCN Sports Film Festival.
Currently, he is also a member of the selection jury for the 14th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival, an international film festival that brings sports-themed audiovisuals closer to the general public.
