First films selected for the 15th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival
The 15th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival is underway, and we have the first films that will be part of this year's lineup! The festival will take place from February 17 to 25, 2025. There is still time to submit your film, as the registration and selection process closes on September 30, 2024.
A continuación, presentamos las primeras seis producciones seleccionadas que podrás disfrutar en diferentes sedes de Barcelona del 17 al 25 de febrero:
Mataperra (21’, Documentary): Yelda embarks on a journey to achieve more than her climbing dreams, aspiring to become the first Cuban to conquer three legendary ascents.
Motorcycle Mary (22’, Documentary): The undeniable story of Mary McGee, a motorsports pioneer, revealed with unseen archival footage and stunning frames, showcasing a thirty-year career where Mary shattered gender norms while mastering multiple racing disciplines.
El Team (9’, Animation): Mariana, a strong-willed girl, aims to be the best BMX cyclist in her region. Through stories told by her grandfather Rodri, she finds inspiration to become a great athlete while traveling through time and meeting various champions.
Trad (39’, Documentary): The story of the Badalona route to La Trona, from its first ascent in 1961 to its transformation and return to traditional climbing style. A chronicle reflecting the evolution and wisdom of this challenge.
Apocalypsis (4’, Animation): In the summer of 1994 in Argentina, a group of children gather to play football under the warm afternoon sun. What begins as another day of fun soon becomes an unforgettable memory.
Broken (17’, Animation): An aging war veteran faces strange events disrupting his peaceful retirement, stirring repressed memories as he tries to discover who is behind the broken windows.
Grace is Water (3’, Experimental): A dance underwater, without breathing, in a deep pool to the tune of a song by Jamie Cullum. The grace of movements in water follows the harmony of the melody.
Magda (9’, Animation/Documentary): In the winter of 1939 in Poland, Magda, a 15-year-old skilled skier, joins the Polish resistance to help transport documents and fugitives across the mountains. One day, she learns that a group of 23 pilots urgently needs to cross the border as the Gestapo is on their heels. She devises a risky plan to divert the Nazis, allowing the pilots to pass unnoticed.

The submission deadline for the 15th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival is September 30, 2024. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this unique event and showcase your production to the world. The festival aims to foster creativity and passion for sports cinema, providing filmmakers and creatives a platform to display their work and earn financial rewards.
Winning films will have the chance to enjoy unique visibility thanks to our partnership with the streaming platform FILMIN. Additionally, a percentage of the revenue generated from the views will be directed to the winning production teams.

HOW TO PARTICIPE
We accept audiovisual productions of all genres, with a maximum duration of 90 minutes, provided their main theme is sports. The works must have been produced after January 1, 2022. You can submit as many works as you like if they meet the requirements.
Submit your production through our website or via the platforms Festhome and FilmFreeway.
SELECTION PROCESS
Once your submission is received, our jury will conduct an initial assessment to verify that it meets the festival requirements. If your production is selected, we will contact you to request the necessary documentation.
