BCN Sports Film Festival continues its journey: a day full of inspiring productions

Wednesday started with two sessions of “Values at stake” at the Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya (National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia), attended by hundreds of students. Later, at the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch, “Adventure in Nature” was screened with the presence of Isabel Díaz, director of “Pirineístas, mujeres y montañas”. At the Cinemes Girona, attendees enjoyed a session dedicated to the world of athletics with “Sprint”, which was attended by members of the production team and the protagonists of “Starting line”. The last session “L’émotion”, at the Institut Français de Barcelona, invited the audience to immerse themselves in the emotional richness of French cinema, with the participation of Felipe de la Cruz and Marie Ponsardin menbers of the official jury. 

 

Wednesday’s screenings of the BCN Sports Film Festival kicked off at the Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya (INEFC) with the session “Values at stake”, screened at 9am and 11am. Hundreds of students were in attendance and were able to explore the fundamental values that shape sports stories. From strength and courage to perseverance and team spirit, inviting to reflect on the principles that make sport a reflection of humanity. 

 

The afternoon sessions began on Montjuïc at 4 pm. The Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch hosted the session “Adventure in nature” with a special guest, Isabel Díaz, director of “Pirineístas, mujeres y montañas” who presented her production. From the imposing mountains to the expanses of wilderness, each film has shown how nature can inspire and empower our protagonists in different parts of the world.

 

Afterwards, “Sprint” was screened at 7pm, the first of five sessions to be hosted by Cinemes Girona. A selection of athletics stories that have captivated and moved the audience. From moments of glory to personal challenges, capturing the essence of athletics and the passion that drives it. Members of the production team and protagonists of the short film “Starting Line” were present at the Cinemes Girona. 

 

Wednesday’s sessions closed with the emotional richness of French cinema intertwined with the most inspiring sports stories. “L’émotion” was screened at 7.30pm at the Institut Français de Barcelona. Triumph, personal challenges… In short, attendees were able to see the most sensitive side of sport, where the true essence of the human spirit shines through. 

 

With each session, the BCN Sports Film Festival continues to demonstrate why it is one of the most anticipated film events of the year.
