Warm welcome to the first day of the BCN Sports Film Festival

Hundreds of people attended the first day of screenings of the 14th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival. A very positive welcome that has taken place in three different venues and that has counted with the presence of Alejandro Blanco, President of the Spanish Olympic Committee; David Escudé, President of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and Sports Councilor of the Barcelona City Council;Raúl Chapado, President of Spanish Olympic Academy and Spanish Athetic Federation; Conrado Durantez, SOA member and Francesc Terrón, Director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, in the session of the Spanish Olympic Committee. Also in attendance was Aleix Vilardebò, director of Costa Brava, Roca Nua, at the Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants. 

 

The sessions of the 14th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival kicked off at 4 pm with a trip to the world of motorsports thanks to the show “On Wheels!” at the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch. Attendees were transported through time and space to witness the most amazing feats of sport on wheels, from the humorous satire of cycling to the thrilling car races. A journey of laughter and adrenaline.

 

Later, at 7 pm, “Sin VAR” was screened at the Spanish Olympic Committee in Madrid. The session was attended by Alejandro Blanco, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation; David Escudé, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and sports councilor of the Barcelona City Council; and Francesc Terrón, director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation; among other personalities from the world of sports. A look at the glorious past of soccer, with unpublished productions that captured the essence of the most popular sport in the world. Moments of glory and challenges; immersing the audience in a roller coaster of emotions. 

 

The festival closed the day at 7.30pm with the “Xtreme” session, in which the excitement reached its peak with screenings dedicated to extreme sports and outdoor adventures. Among the attendees the protagonist was Aleix Vilardebò, director of Costa Brava, Roca Nua, who shared his passion for cinema and his vision behind the films with all the spectators. A total of 9 audiovisuals where it has been possible to see from dizzying climbs to parachute jumps. Each of them has offered a dose of adrenaline and freedom to the public of the Centre Cívic Cotxeres de Sants.
