HAIZE LERROAK (WIND LINES)

Haize Lerroak documents the dance lines created by Janire Etxabe over four years in the most iconic mountains and forests of the Basque Country, exploring the landscape with her Harrobi Dantza Bertikala company. Etxabe, from the moment at which she discovered vertical dance, knew that this was the road for her, suspended on ropes in the mountains in search of an indefinable emotion. The short film explores the profound relationship between vertical dance and nature, demonstrating how this discipline can become a language for inhabiting the territory and expressing the memory of the landscape together with Basque identity and its ancestral imaginary.
