More than 1600 students attended the school sessions of the BCN Sports Film Festival
The Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch has hosted for three days the school sessions of the BCN Sports Film Festival. More than 1600 students have been able to enjoy animation, fiction and short documentaries with the aim of reflecting on current issues.
Once again, the school sessions offered by the BCN Sports Film Festival have been a success. From 20 to 22, the Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch has opened its doors to thousands of students who have seen how sport can be an educational tool.
During the three days, animation, fiction and documentary productions have been screened in order to make them reflect on issues related to immigration, health, stereotypes, performance, school bullying, war conflicts or gender diversity.
Thanks to the collaboration of FILMCLUB, an entity that promotes learning through audiovisuals, each session has a pedagogical dossier according to the themes and ages of each show.
Also, this 14th edition of the festival is part of the initiative “Acció Cinema”, an initiative promoted by Catalunya Film Festivals, in collaboration with the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation of the Department of Foreign Action and European Union and the Department of Culture, which promotes the audiovisual as a tool for building an educated, critical and mobilized citizenship for a fairer world. “Acció Cinema” connects the world of cooperation with the world of cinema, the public and reality, critical analysis and action. Through this initiative, the session of young people between 13 and 14 years old was attended by Josep Masip, representative of Creu Roja in Catalonia, who explained the humanitarian and voluntary actions that work in the organization.
In this way, we put an end with a golden brooch to the face-to-face school sessions. Remember that the online sessions will be open until March 30. For the latter, you must request registration, a password will be generated that will be valid until March 30 and, with the username and password, you can access as many times as you want to any of the sessions.
